HIGH SCHOOL MISSION TRIP
- Location: Nicaragua – Vida Joven Young Life Camp
- Date: June 17 – 24
- Who: Completed 9 – 12 Grade
Our High School Mission Trip is open for completed 9 – 12 grade students. We will be partnering with Vida Joven Nicaragua. It is the Young Life Camp in Nicaragua. SMPC has close ties with this ministry – in 1988 Jim and Sarah Hornsby (SMPC Members) began building friendships with Nicaraguan youth in order to introduce them to a life long relationship with Jesus Christ. Since its beginning, it has grown to include more than 60 clubs in 10 different cities. Vida Joven Camp is also called La Finca and is located in the most mountainous region of Nicaragua. It’s 154 acres; the high altitude of this area makes the camp an ideal place for growing coffee. The proceeds from selling this gourmet coffee provide funding for a Nicaraguan youth to go to camp for one day. We will be working at this camp for the week. In addition to that we will have the opportunity to do a home stay with a Nicaraguan leader on the front end of the trip and will have a team day together on the back end of the trip.
