This article explores how our culture is enabling students to appear mature far too early, exposing them to information and experiences before they are emotionally ready. However, we as adults are not realizing it until later that the maturity the students were showing was actually “artificial.” This study shows how these students may have been cognitively or socially advanced, but emotionally, they’re behind. The article ends with 5 suggestions of how to help artificially mature students.
