In-Town High School Retreat
This year’s High School Retreat will take place at the church November 14th-15th. We’ll worship together, hear where the Gospel meets us in this crazy moment, and have loads of fun with our D-Groups!
What to Expect
Weather permitting, everything will take place outside, so dress warm! Lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday, along with Sunday lunch after the 11am worship service.
Our Speaker
Becca Heck is Co-Director of IDX Student Ministry at Intown Community Church in Atlanta, GA. She’s been serving in youth ministry since she was a teenager in Indiana and has been on staff at Intown for over 11 years. After all this time, she is still blown away that she somehow convinced people to let her to do it for a living. She serves as steering committee emerita for Rooted Ministry which exists to advance gospel-centered youth ministry and sits on the planning committee for Breakaway Conference, a summer camp built for Sr. High students to meet with Jesus. Becca works to create places of gospel wholeness no matter where she goes, whether in teaching God’s word or meeting a student, parent, or friend for coffee, or even in hosting parties at her home (pre-pandemic of course).
Becca’s heart is for students to see their worth and importance in the Kingdom now, not just when they “grow up”. Her talks often follow the patten of teaching the bigness of the Kingdom and the intimacy of the King, in hope that all who hear will fall deeper in love with the mercy offered to them thru the work of Christ. When she isn’t teaching to students and other youth leaders, she’s reading books on her porch swing, studying for MDiv classes with RTS Atlanta, or trying out every coffee shop in the south. She is also on a life-long journey to try find the best burger and fries combo in the world. It’s a really difficult task and she doesn’t take it lightly.
Important details
Drop-off and check in will be at 10:30am on Saturday.
Pick up on Saturday will be at 9:30pm.
Sunday morning, we’ll meet at 10:15am for hot chocolate and donuts before worship, and stay for lunch and a wrap-up after the service!
