Student Devotional – Ben Zeiser

As we read in Acts 10 Cornelius gave alms to the poor and prayed continually to God. He was a very devout follower of Jesus. God was honored by the sacrifices that Cornelius was making in following Him. However, it is important to note that the gospel doesn’t care about all the “works” you do. But because our God is gracious, He still wants to give gifts to us. Visions and dreams are gifts, as are salvation, relationships and life. Everything is a gift. With open hands and thankful hearts we receive all that the Lord pours into our lives. Later on in Acts 10, we hear of another gift given by God; the Gentiles hearing the Good News.
